Spartanburg: THE CELLAR CLUB, 1071 Fernwood-Glendale Road, 699-9730: Sly Sparrow. 9 p.m.
The brainchild of Upstate music veteran Daniel Casasanta, Sly Sparrow is a relatively new rock band that offers a mix of original material and classic covers. Anchored by Casasanta on bass, the group features a constantly revolving lineup, making each show a unique experience.
Spartanburg: DELANEY'S IRISH PUB, 117 W. Main St., 573-0051: Shane Pruitt Band. 9:30 p.m.
Kicking off a weekend celebration marking the 10th anniversary a popular downtown nightspot, the Shane Pruitt Band will deliver its rousing mix of blues, vintage soul and classic rock 'n' roll. As if the high-quality performance weren't enough, Delaney's will also be giving away lots of prizes throughout the festivities.
Spartanburg: MAIN STREET PUB, 252 W. Main St., 573-1165: Jason Marcum & Friends. 9 p.m.
Jason Marcum cranks out refreshingly honest music that runs the gamut from contemporary alt-country to John Mayer-esque pop-rock. A veteran of the Upstate music scene, Marcum has appeared on nearly two dozen albums, including several of his own solo efforts.
Greenville: THE RADIO ROOM, 2845 N. Pleasantburg Drive, 864-263-7868: Chivalry/ReDefind/Terrigen Mist. 9 p.m. $5.
A Spartanburg-based quintet, Chivalry has developed a solid reputation for producing bone-crushing death metal inspired by such nationally renowned acts as Whitechapel and the Black Dahlia Murder.
Spartanburg: NU-WAY RESTAURANT AND LOUNGE, 373 E. Kennedy St., 582-9685: David Ezell. 9:30 p.m.
Ezell will also perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at The Peddler Steakhouse.
Not only does David Ezell craft hauntingly beautiful songs of his own, but he also seems to know a broader range of folk, country, soul, pop and rock 'n' roll songs than just about anybody. The Spartanburg-based singer-songwriter's shows are full of spontaneity with selections varying from night to night.
